Translation: "what is heard; revealed scripture; direct assertion; Veda"
Definition:
- The Vedas are called the Śruti. They are the Hindu revelatory scripture. The Divine Word (Veda) which is "heard" by the Seer (Rṣi) constitutes the immemorial truth.
- It is divided into Bheda- and Abheda-Śruti.
