Bimba-Pratibimba-Vāda (IAST)
Translation: "the theory of the original and its reflection"

A Concise Dictionary of Indian Philosophy
Sanskrit: बिम्बप्रतिबिम्बवाद
Transliteration: Bimba-Pratibimba-Vāda
Translation: "reflection theory; theory of the original and its reflection"
Definition:
  1. The reflection theory of the Advaita Vedānta Vivaraṇa school, in which consciousness is said to be reflected in the adventitious condition, ignorance (Avidyā). According to this view, the individual is a reflection of intelligence present in egoity. As there exists no difference between a reflection and the original, the individual soul (Jīva) is non-different from the Absolute (Brahman).
