Transliteration: Pratibimba-Vāda
Translation: "reflection theory"
Definition: "The theory that the individual (Jīva) is an appearance of the Absolute (Brahman) as reflected in nescience. This theory is propounded by the Vivaraṇa school of Advaita Vedānta. Padmapāda gives an analogy of a reflection in a mirror in contrast to the analogy of the red crystal that is given in Ābhāsa-Vāda.
