Definition:
  1. According to Advaita Vedanta, the main proximate aid to liberation consists in hearing (Śravaṇa), reflection (Manana), and meditation (Nididhyāsana). After a spiritual aspirant becomes qualified (see Sādhana-Catuṣṭaya), they should hear the Upaniṣadic texts from a qualified teacher, reflect on their truth, and contemplate upon their purport.
